*This home page will announce any happenings throughout the year for the technology club. To get us started, I have included the handout you will receive the first day of school.
Technology Club (Supervision Option) We will be reading Blogs, Wikis, Podcasts, and Other Powerful Web Tools for Classrooms by Will Richardson. Additionally, we will look at work from Allan November, famed prognosticator of technology in education. For this after school run session, we will look at Web 2.0 technologies such as google reader, igoogle, creating your own wiki site, making your own podcast…pretty much anyway technology can improve instruction in your classroom, we will explore it!
Requirements for the club will include: ·Sharing a chapter/presenting on a new piece of technology to be used in the classroom (i.e. creating your own wiki page). ·Demonstration of a new technology practice in your own classroom (i.e. digital storytelling lesson). ·Observing another teacher who is using a technology piece to enhance instruction. This will be followed by a brief email to the entire group summarizing the lesson and how you may use it in your own classroom. For the teacher that is delivering the lesson, please send an email to the entire group highlighting what you intend to do; this will allow teachers to make arrangements to observe the class. ·This group will spearhead the web page development for the entire school. We will all create and maintain a web page while we are in this club.
